Spend this summer gaining valuable experience as a paid intern in the Health Center at Camp Ondessonk. Situated on 983 acres adjacent to the Shawnee National Forest, Camp Ondessonk is a Catholic Youth Camp serving children ages 8-16. As an Assistant Health Center Coordinator, you will spend the summer working and learning daily with our RN Health Center Coordinator to oversee and implement Health Center operations from medication distribution to first aid, as well as, supervise and schedule weekly volunteer nurses. This experience is hands on and perfect for EMTs and Nursing Students.

Essential Job Functions:
Work with the Health Center Coordinator to oversee day-to-day operations of Camp Ondessonk’s Health Center
Supervision and scheduling of volunteer nurses
Manage and track Health Center Inventory and equipment
Maintain and update camper and staff health forms and incident reports
Ensure unit staff are made aware of pertinent camper medical needs, including allergies, medications, and relevant health histories
Coordinate with and consult Health Center Coordinator and Camp Physician for larger needs
Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Qualifications:
Must be at least 21 years of age
Current Illinois EMT-B license, Nursing Student, and/or First Responder Training are preferred
Effective organizational skills
Ability to effectively supervise personnel
Knowledge of emergency & medical equipment
Ability to respond to emergency situations and follow correct emergency procedures
