What you can expect in this position:

Our 10 - week summer internships are designed to provide hands-on, project-based experience in various areas of our business. Under the direction of the HR Occupational Health Manager maintains the accuracy of demographic, employment, benefit, compensation and payroll information stored in the Human Resource Information System (HRIS).  Processes and maintains HR related materials, files, and required forms in compliance with organizational policies and procedure, benefit plan documents, as well as federal and state governing bodies, to support employee health and wellness, benefit and compensation functions. Will work on special projects as assigned. Must exercise a high degree of discretion, good judgment, positive attitude and confidentiality in job assignments and communications with others due to the sensitivity of the files and processes involved.

Job Duties:

  • Assists with special projects as assigned.
  • Maintains the customer service standards of the department and Versiti.
  • Communicates clearly and respectfully with customers, donors, and colleagues, sharing all necessary information.
  • Works effectively with team members, contributing to team efforts.
  • Supports Versiti’s mission, vision, and values as well as department goals and objectives.

Maintains employee and other HR data in the system or on forms, either electronically or manually, and performs periodic audits to ensure the quality and integrity of the system.

Processes, tracks and maintains employee transactions/information as assigned.

Ensures communication/distribution of necessary information to HR customers.

Collaborates with HR Team in process improvement.

Maintains ongoing focus on teamwork and communication to improve processes that ensure efficiency and cost-effective HR services.

Offers Administrative Support for the HR team

Qualifications

What you will need:

***All new employees must obtain primary Covid-19 vaccination (single dose Johnson & Johnson or 2 dosages of Pfizer/Moderna/Novavax) prior to start date or have an approved accommodation prior to their start date. ***

Education

  • Must be currently enrolled in an accredited college/university program in a related field of the internship. Healthcare or HR related area of study preferred.

Experience

  • Completed a minimum of 2 years in college/university in a related field of study for the internship preferred. (Nursing, Health Care Administration, Biomedical Engineering, HR, Public Health etc. field of study preferred)
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills

Skills and Knowledge

  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to be customer-focused and follow through on requests promptly
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to quickly and accurately understand instructions and then work independently on assignments
  • Ability to handle confidential information appropriately
  • Demonstrates keen attention to detail

When you will work?

  • This is a full-time, 40 hour per week internship, working Monday-Friday. The internship will begin on June 5th
