Analytical Mass Spectrometry, Ion-Molecule Reactions Internship Overview

Envision spending your summer working with energetic colleagues and inspirational leaders, all while gaining world-class experience in one of the most dynamic organizations in the pharmaceutical industry. This is a reality for AbbVie’s Experiential Interns.

Key responsibilities include:

• Modify mass spectrometer (linear ion trap) for ion-molecule reactions
• Reproduce literature examples of ion-molecule reactions to confirm successful system setup
• Demonstrate utility of ion-molecule reactions for AbbVie-specific small molecules to aid structure elucidation by mass spectrometry
• Collaborate with others within R&D team to extend application of ion-molecule reactions within AbbVie

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications 

• Currently enrolled in university, pursuing a PhD in Chemistry or related field
• Must be enrolled in university during the internship period
• Robust experience in mass spectrometry

Preferred Qualifications 

• Previous experience with ion-molecule reactions in mass spectrometry
